Job Summary
Cardinal Health is seeking a Director of Business Development – Specialty Pharmacy to lead growth initiatives for its Innovative Care Pharmacy division in Edgewood, Richland County, US. This senior role focuses on expanding partnerships with specialty manufacturers and biotech companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans for specialty pharmacy services, targeting cell, gene, rare disease, and exclusive therapies.
- Identify, negotiate, and secure new contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotechnology firms, and payer networks.
- Lead provider engagement programs, fostering strong relationships with clinicians and healthcare organizations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including clinical, data analytics, billing, and reimbursement—to deliver integrated solutions.
- Drive market intelligence gathering and competitive analysis to inform growth strategies.
- Represent Cardinal Health at industry conferences, webinars, and stakeholder meetings.
- Mentor and manage a high‑performing business development team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy, biotech, or pharmaceutical business development.
- Proven track record of securing high‑value contracts and building strategic alliances.
- Deep understanding of specialty drug distribution, payer contracting, and reimbursement models.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
Compensation
Base salary: $114,122.44 annually.
