Cardinal Health is seeking a Director of Business Development – Specialty Pharmacy to lead growth initiatives for its Innovative Care Pharmacy division in Trenton, Mercer County, US. This senior role drives provider engagement, payer contracts, and partnership strategies for cell, gene, and rare‑disease therapies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business‑development strategy to expand Cardinal Health’s specialty pharmacy footprint.
- Identify, negotiate, and secure contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech firms, and payers.
- Lead provider‑engagement programs, including education, onboarding, and ongoing clinical support.
- Collaborate with data‑analytics, billing, and clinical teams to deliver integrated solutions that improve patient outcomes and reimbursement rates.
- Monitor market trends in cell, gene, and rare‑disease therapies to inform product positioning and competitive advantage.
- Manage a high‑performing business‑development team, setting targets, coaching staff, and tracking performance metrics.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy, biotech, or pharmaceutical business development.
- Proven track record of securing multi‑million‑dollar contracts and building strategic alliances.
- Deep understanding of payer contracting, reimbursement models, and specialty drug distribution.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel regionally and nationally as required.
Compensation
Base salary: $120,913.11 annually.
