Director, Business Development – Specialty Pharmacy

Job Summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Director of Business Development – Specialty Pharmacy to lead growth initiatives for its Innovative Care Pharmacy division in Archer, Laramie County, WY.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business plans to expand specialty pharmacy services across cell, gene, rare disease, and exclusive drug portfolios.
• Lead provider engagement and payer contracting efforts, negotiating contracts that maximize market access and reimbursement.
• Collaborate with clinical, data analytics, and operations teams to create value‑based solutions and outcome‑tracking programs.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturers to generate new partnership opportunities.
• Drive revenue forecasts, pipeline management, and reporting to senior leadership.
• Represent Cardinal Health at industry conferences, webinars, and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, or related) preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of business development experience in specialty pharmacy, biotech, or pharmaceutical services.
• Proven track record of securing high‑value contracts and partnerships.
• Strong understanding of payer landscape, reimbursement models, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel regionally as needed.

Compensation

Base salary: $132,750.72 per year.
