About This Position

BusPlanner is seeking a Development Manager in Toronto, Ontario to serve as the right‑hand to the CTO and drive clean, predictable delivery of software projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the CTO to translate product roadmaps into actionable development plans.
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate a cross‑functional engineering team to ensure timely, high‑quality releases.
  • Implement agile processes, track metrics, and remove blockers to maintain steady velocity.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to align scope, priorities, and release schedules.
  • Own the operational engine for all code deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and technical debt reduction initiatives.
  • Report progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership on a regular basis.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or people‑management role.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex SaaS products on schedule.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, and modern cloud architectures.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Hands‑on technical background (e.g., Java, .NET, Node.js, or Python) is a plus.
