Design Engineer, Transportation – WSP Canada – Fredericton, York region

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed design concepts, calculations, and drawings for transportation projects including highways, bridges, and transit corridors.
  • Perform traffic analysis, geometric design, and pavement modeling using industry‑standard software.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure design alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and construction documentation.
  • Support field inspections, construction monitoring, and post‑construction reviews to verify design intent.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the engineering group.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration or eligibility in Canada.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in transportation design, preferably with highways, bridges, or transit systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and traffic simulation tools (e.g., VISSIM, Synchro).
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within collaborative project teams.
