Job Summary

Meta is hiring a Data Engineer, Product Analytics in Washington, D.C., US. You will design, build, and maintain large‑scale data pipelines that power insights for billions of users across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Reality Labs and Threads.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise robust ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark to ingest petabyte‑scale data from product events.
• Collaborate with product analysts, data scientists and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable data models.
• Implement data quality frameworks, monitoring, and alerting to ensure reliability of analytics datasets.
• Maintain and evolve data warehouses and lakehouse solutions on platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Hadoop.
• Write performant, well‑documented code and conduct peer reviews to uphold Meta’s engineering standards.
• Support ad‑hoc analysis, A/B test reporting, and KPI dashboards for product teams.
• Stay current with emerging data technologies and best practices, recommending improvements to the data stack.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience building data pipelines and data warehouses at scale.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and a programming language such as Python, Java or Scala.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed processing frameworks (Spark, Flink, Presto) and cloud data services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Solid understanding of data modelling, schema design, and data governance.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with product analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Amplitude).
• Knowledge of machine‑learning feature pipelines and real‑time streaming data.
• Familiarity with Meta’s product ecosystem and large‑scale user behavior data.

Base salary: $107,693.01 per year.
