Job Summary
Trane Technologies is seeking a Data Center Systems Engineer in Wilmington, Middlesex County, US. This role supports the design, implementation, and operation of mission‑critical data center infrastructure while advancing the company’s sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain servers, storage, networking, and power‑distribution systems in Trane’s data centers.
- Implement monitoring and automation tools to ensure high availability, performance, and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and apply corrective actions.
- Lead capacity‑planning initiatives and recommend upgrades aligned with sustainability targets.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and compliance reports.
- Participate in on‑call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in data center operations, systems engineering, or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), networking (Cisco, Juniper), and storage technologies.
- Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and automation platforms (Ansible, Terraform).
- Understanding of energy‑efficiency best practices and sustainability metrics.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
