Job Summary
Trane Technologies is hiring a Data Center Systems Engineer in Davidson, Mecklenburg County, US. This role supports the design, implementation, and operation of mission‑critical data center infrastructure while driving sustainability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain server, storage, networking, and power systems for Trane’s data centers.
- Implement monitoring, automation, and capacity‑planning tools to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate sustainable technologies and reduce energy consumption.
- Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortem documentation.
- Develop and enforce standards, procedures, and security best practices.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data center operations or systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization, cloud platforms, networking (TCP/IP, VLANs), and power‑distribution systems.
- Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk) and automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell).
- Proven ability to implement energy‑efficient solutions and sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- Certifications such as CCNP, VMware VCP, or AWS Solutions Architect.
- Familiarity with HVAC and cooling technologies for data centers.
- Experience in a regulated industry with compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001).
Compensation & Benefits
