About This Position
Join the ITD FinOps team in Capitol, Richmond, US as a Data Analyst 3 on a 6‑month contract (potential extension). This hybrid role focuses on analyzing, modeling, and forecasting Azure cloud and on‑premises data center financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and validate financial and usage data from Azure and on‑premise systems.
- Develop and maintain cost allocation models, dashboards, and reports for stakeholders.
- Perform variance analysis, trend forecasting, and scenario modeling to support budgeting and cost‑optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with finance, engineering, and procurement teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
- Automate data pipelines and reporting processes using SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to reduce cloud spend and improve resource utilization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in financial data analysis, preferably with cloud cost management (Azure preferred).
- Proficiency in SQL, Python/R, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong understanding of cloud pricing models, on‑premise data center cost structures, and FinOps principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure Cost Management, Azure Monitor, or similar cloud cost tools.
- Knowledge of statistical modeling, forecasting techniques, and machine‑learning basics.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
