About This Position
Outland is hiring a Crew Leader for its Outland Youth Employment Program (OYEP) in a remote camp near Edmonton, Alberta. This 7‑week summer contract (July‑August 2026) is a live‑in role supervising youth participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily supervision and support to youth “Rangers” throughout the program.
- Ensure a safe camp environment by enforcing safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Model professional workplace behaviour, healthy group living, and community standards.
- Plan and lead group activities, workshops, and skill‑building sessions.
- Coordinate with program staff on schedules, logistics, and participant wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and daily reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience working with youth in camp, outdoor, or community settings.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to live on‑site for the full 7‑week period and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- First‑aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain it before start date.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation for occasional off‑site duties.
- Passion for mentoring and developing young people.
