Clinical Informatics Director (Remote)
About This Position
GovCIO is hiring a Clinical Informatics Director (MD/DO) to lead senior clinical strategy for complex healthcare technology initiatives, working fully remote from Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, US.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary clinical liaison between healthcare providers and digital health teams, ensuring technology solutions support real‑world care delivery.
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of electronic health record (EHR) integrations, telehealth platforms, and data analytics tools.
- Develop and enforce clinical governance, safety, and compliance standards across all technology projects.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including IT, security, operations, and vendor partners—to align project timelines with clinical workflows.
- Provide expert guidance on clinical documentation improvement, decision support, and patient outcome measurement.
- Mentor and coach clinical staff on best practices for using health IT systems.
- Prepare and present reports for senior leadership and government stakeholders on project performance and clinical impact.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with active, unrestricted medical license in the United States.
- Minimum 8 years of clinical experience, with at least 4 years in health informatics or digital health leadership.
- Proven track record managing large‑scale EHR, telehealth, or health‑data analytics implementations.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other federal health‑IT regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Board certification in a clinical specialty.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum project methodologies.
- Familiarity with interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, and APIs.
Compensation
Annual salary: $200,805.80
