Job Summary
GovCIO is hiring a Clinical Informatics Director (MD/DO) to lead senior clinical initiatives for complex healthcare technology projects. This fully remote position is based in Douglas, Juneau, US, offering a salary of $236,906.44.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic clinical leadership and guidance across digital health and health‑IT implementations.
- Act as the primary liaison between clinical staff, IT teams, and executive leadership to align technology solutions with patient care workflows.
- Develop and oversee clinical informatics policies, standards, and best practices.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in the design, testing, and deployment of EHR, telehealth, and analytics platforms.
- Evaluate clinical impact of technology projects, measure outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, United States Suitability/Public Trust standards.
- Mentor and coach clinicians and informatics staff on effective use of digital tools.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with board certification in a clinical specialty.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in clinical informatics, health IT, or related fields.
- Proven track record leading large‑scale health‑technology implementations.
- Deep understanding of EHR systems, interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR), and data analytics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Eligibility for United States Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with remote/virtual team management.
- Familiarity with cloud‑based health platforms and AI‑driven clinical decision support.
- Advanced certification in Clinical Informatics (e.g., CPHIMS, AMIA).
