Clinical Informatics Director (Remote)

GovCIO is hiring a Clinical Informatics Director (MD/DO) to lead senior clinical initiatives for healthcare technology projects, working fully remotely from Boise, Ada County, US.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic clinical leadership for complex digital health implementations.
• Act as the primary liaison between clinical staff, IT teams, and executive leadership.
• Ensure technology solutions align with provider workflows, patient safety, and outcome metrics.
• Develop and oversee clinical informatics policies, standards, and best practices.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams in system design, testing, deployment, and post‑implementation evaluation.
• Drive data governance, analytics, and reporting to support evidence‑based decision making.
• Mentor clinicians and informatics staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility.
• Minimum 8 years of clinical practice experience, preferably in a hospital or health system.
• At least 5 years of experience in clinical informatics, health IT, or related leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success managing large‑scale EHR, CDSS, or telehealth projects.
• Strong knowledge of interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change‑management skills.
• Eligibility for United States Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with federal health programs (VA, DoD, Medicare).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Publications or presentations in clinical informatics forums.

Compensation

Salary: $203,183.10 annually (fixed).
