About This Position

Skyways is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the development of autonomous long‑range cargo aircraft in Austin, Travis County, US. This executive role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on engineering oversight, reporting directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the technology roadmap for autonomous cargo aircraft, including V2 and V3 platforms.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and pilots to deliver safe, FAA‑compliant flight operations across three continents.
  • Oversee hardware and software integration for dual‑hybrid vertical‑takeoff and cruise systems.
  • Manage R&D budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic partnerships with aerospace regulators.
  • Drive innovation in payload capacity, endurance, and autonomous navigation algorithms.
  • Represent Skyways at industry conferences, investor meetings, and regulatory hearings.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in aerospace, robotics, or advanced aviation technology.
  • Proven track record delivering autonomous or unmanned aircraft systems to operational status.
  • Deep understanding of FAA regulations, airspace integration, and safety certification processes.
  • Strong background in hybrid propulsion, VTOL design, and long‑range flight endurance.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and team‑building abilities.

Compensation & Benefits
