Job Summary
Velova is seeking a detail‑oriented Bookkeeping Specialist to join its unified team in Vancouver, Greater Vancouver. You will manage financial records for our nonprofit‑focused SaaS products, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledger entries, accounts payable, and receivable for multiple product lines.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and payroll records on a monthly basis.
- Prepare financial statements, trial balances, and month‑end close reports for internal stakeholders.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Respond to internal audit requests and support external auditors during year‑end reviews.
- Utilize cloud‑based accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero) and Velora’s proprietary platforms.
- Continuously improve bookkeeping processes and recommend automation opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or nonprofit environment.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and nonprofit financial reporting.
- Proficiency with cloud accounting tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time‑management abilities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
