Biochemist – AI Data Trainer at Alignerr (Remote, Edmonton)
Alignerr is seeking a PhD‑level Biochemist to work remotely as an AI Data Trainer, partnering with world‑leading AI research labs to improve scientific AI models. This flexible contract role leverages your expertise in protein folding, metabolic pathways, enzyme kinetics and molecular genetics to shape the next generation of life‑science AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate, annotate and validate biochemical data sets for training AI models.
- Design and execute experiments that generate high‑quality training data on protein structures, metabolic flux and enzyme mechanisms.
- Collaborate with AI engineers to translate biochemical concepts into model features and evaluation metrics.
- Provide expert feedback on model outputs, identifying biases and suggesting improvements.
- Document data pipelines, protocols and findings in clear, reproducible formats.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
- Strong background in protein folding, metabolic engineering, enzyme kinetics and molecular genetics.
- Experience with scientific data curation, database management and data annotation.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and ability to communicate effectively with data scientists.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and written communication skills.
