Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight and strategic direction for behavioral health services across Optum’s network.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence‑based treatment protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, pharmacists, and data analysts—to ensure integrated, patient‑centered care.
• Mentor and supervise resident physicians and licensed behavioral health providers.
• Analyze population health data to identify gaps in care and drive outcome‑focused interventions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS, NCQA).
• Represent UnitedHealth Group in external forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with board certification in Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.
• Current, unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of telehealth platforms and digital health technologies.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
