Job Summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Behavioral Medical Director (Licensed) to lead residency programs for behavioral health in New Jersey. This remote position is based out of South Toms River, Ocean County, NJ, with a competitive annual salary of $179,507.95.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical governance and quality improvement for behavioral health residency programs.
• Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance evaluations for residents and fellows.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based treatment protocols and curricula aligned with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and telehealth technology specialists.
• Analyze outcomes data to drive continuous improvement and report results to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and UnitedHealth Group policies.

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with active New Jersey medical license.
• Board certification in Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, including supervisory or director‑level roles.
• Demonstrated experience in residency education, curriculum design, and accreditation processes.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in health‑care data platforms and electronic medical records.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
