Job Summary
Louisiana Healthcare Connections is seeking a full‑time Behavioral Health Medical Director to join its Medical Management/Health Services team in Ajax, Natchitoches Parish, US. This senior clinical role oversees behavioral health programs for a large member base, ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral health clinical policies and protocols.
- Provide clinical oversight and direction to a multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, and case managers.
- Collaborate with government‑sponsored health plans to ensure compliance with Medicaid and other regulatory requirements.
- Analyze utilization data, identify trends, and drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert for complex case reviews and medical necessity determinations.
- Participate in provider network development, credentialing, and performance monitoring.
- Represent the organization in external meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with board certification in Psychiatry or related behavioral health specialty.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health, preferably within Medicaid or government‑funded programs.
- Proven leadership experience managing clinical teams and large‑scale health services.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, utilization management, and quality metrics.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work remotely with occasional on‑site visits to the Ajax office.
Compensation & Benefits
