Job Summary

StoneGate-Technologies LLC is seeking an AWS Data Engineer with AI skills to work on-site in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, NC (2 days a week). This role focuses on designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and supporting AI‑driven solutions on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Architect and manage cloud‑based data platforms (Redshift, S3, Athena, RDS) ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement data modeling, warehousing, and data lake strategies to support analytics and machine‑learning workloads.
• Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI/ML models (SageMaker, TensorFlow, PyTorch) into production pipelines.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows for cost efficiency and reliability.
• Enforce security best practices, data governance, and compliance (IAM, KMS, encryption).
• Document architecture, processes, and provide knowledge transfer to team members.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in an AWS‑first environment.
• Proficiency with AWS services: Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudFormation, and SageMaker.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Python/Scala for data transformation.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, EKS) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts and ability to support model deployment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
