Automation Engineer
About This Position
CBRE is seeking an Automation Engineer for its Manor, New Castle County location in the United States. This role supports one of the world’s largest online retailers and focuses on safety‑first control system design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and maintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems for high‑volume fulfillment facilities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and execute automation strategies that improve productivity and safety.
- Perform root‑cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Lead commissioning, testing, and validation of new automation projects.
- Maintain documentation, as‑built drawings, and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience with PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Proficiency in HMI/SCADA platforms such as Wonderware, Ignition, or FactoryTalk.
- Strong understanding of safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E) and risk assessment.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits
