About This Position

Job Summary

Skycubed is seeking an Authorization & Accreditation Engineer in San Diego, San Diego County, US. This role will drive system authorization, manage requirements, and ensure compliance throughout the cyber analytics lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, submission, and maintenance of Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages for cyber data‑analytics systems.
  • Analyze, document, and allocate system requirements, ensuring traceability from concept to deployment.
  • Coordinate with software engineers, developers, and test teams to verify that security controls are correctly implemented and validated.
  • Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and continuous monitoring activities.
  • Produce and maintain detailed security documentation, including SSPs, POAs&M, and test reports.
  • Interact with customers, government agencies, and third‑party assessors to address findings and ensure compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on A&A processes and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Authorization & Accreditation, RMF, or similar cyber security frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800‑53, DoD RMF, and other federal security standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with security assessment tools, vulnerability scanners, and configuration management.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, fast‑paced environment.

Compensation

Salary: $151,786.34 per year (fixed).
