Job Summary
UMB Bank is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust to work remotely with a hybrid schedule, based in Wyoming, Kent County, US. This role focuses on structured finance, escrow, municipal and corporate trust transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and comment on structured finance documents, escrow agreements, municipal and corporate bond and note documentation.
- Draft and negotiate amendments to protect UMB Bank’s corporate trust interests.
- Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on transaction structures, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and compliance teams to ensure timely execution of trust transactions.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of securities law, trust regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist in the preparation of internal memoranda, reports, and presentations for senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction.
- 2–4 years of experience in corporate trust, structured finance, or securities law.
- Strong analytical and drafting skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
Compensation
Salary: $119,426.16 annually.
Location & Work Model
Remote‑Hybrid role based in Wyoming, Kent County, US. Flexible schedule with occasional on‑site meetings as needed.
