Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust (Remote Hybrid)

UMB Bank is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust to work remotely with a hybrid schedule, based in Cedar, Cole County, US. This role focuses on structured finance, escrow, municipal and corporate trust transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and provide legal commentary on structured finance documents, escrow agreements, municipal and corporate bond and note documentation.
• Draft and negotiate amendments to protect UMB Bank’s corporate trust interests.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel, and trust officers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of transaction closing materials and post‑closing documentation.
• Stay current on industry trends, securities law, and trust regulations to provide proactive advice.

Qualifications

• J.D. or equivalent law degree and active bar membership.
• 2+ years of experience in corporate trust, structured finance, or municipal bond practice.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment while meeting deadlines.
