Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust (Remote Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and comment on structured finance documents, escrow agreements, municipal and corporate bond notes, and related transaction paperwork.
• Provide legal recommendations and draft amendments to protect UMB Bank’s corporate trust interests.
• Collaborate with internal trust teams, external counsel, and counterparties to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist in negotiating terms and conditions for trust services and escrow arrangements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of securities law, municipal finance, and trust industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 2–4 years of experience drafting and negotiating structured finance, escrow, municipal bond, or corporate trust documents.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office suite; experience with contract management systems is a plus.
