Job Summary
Merck is seeking an Associate Director – Global Swine Technical Nutritionist to join its Animal Health division in Wyoming, Kent County, US. This senior technical role provides worldwide nutrition expertise to support marketing, commercial and R&D initiatives for the Global Swine Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑level scientific and nutritional guidance across the full product lifecycle, from concept through launch to post‑market support.
- Collaborate with global marketing, sales, and R&D teams to translate nutrition science into compelling product messaging and customer solutions.
- Lead the development of technical training materials, webinars, and field‑side tools for internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Conduct and oversee scientific studies, feed trials, and data analysis to validate product performance and nutritional claims.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison with veterinarians, nutritionists, feed manufacturers, and key opinion leaders worldwide.
- Monitor emerging scientific literature, regulatory changes, and market trends to inform strategic product positioning.
- Represent Merck at industry conferences, trade shows, and scientific forums, presenting data and thought‑leadership on swine nutrition.
- Support regulatory submissions and ensure compliance with global animal health standards.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or advanced degree in Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 8‑10 years of experience in swine nutrition, preferably within a multinational animal health or feed company.
- Proven track record of leading cross‑functional projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in designing and interpreting feed trials and scientific studies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex science to diverse audiences.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual base salary: $139,079.64 (USD) plus standard Merck benefits package.
