Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Service Provider (Special Education) to join our Pearson Virtual Schools team in Douglas, Juneau, US. This full‑time role offers a fixed annual salary of $98,052.80 and focuses on delivering high‑quality special‑education services to virtual learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation and direct support to special‑education teachers and families across Pearson Online Academy and Connections Academy.
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with curriculum designers to ensure accessibility and differentiation in virtual coursework.
- Conduct virtual assessments, progress monitoring, and data‑driven reporting for students with diverse learning needs.
- Lead professional development workshops and webinars for staff on best practices in special‑education technology and instruction.
- Serve as a liaison between Pearson, school districts, and external service providers to coordinate resources and compliance.
- Stay current with special‑education law, research, and emerging ed‑tech tools to continuously improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid special‑education certification and at least 5 years of experience supporting K‑12 students, preferably in an online or blended environment.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and state-specific special‑education statutes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with virtual learning platforms, data‑management systems, and assistive technology.
