Job Summary
Pearson is seeking an Advanced Specialist, Service Provider (Special Education) to join our Pearson Virtual Schools team in Trenton, Mercer County, US. This role supports virtual K‑12 special education services and ensures high‑quality instructional delivery for students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation and direct services to special‑education students across Pearson’s virtual schools, including Connections Academy and Pearson Online Academy.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum to meet state and federal compliance.
- Conduct virtual assessments, progress monitoring, and data analysis to inform instructional strategies.
- Deliver professional development and coaching to virtual staff on best practices in special‑education pedagogy and technology integration.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Pearson’s learning management system and ensure timely reporting to regulatory agencies.
- Stay current with special‑education law, research, and emerging digital tools to continuously improve service quality.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
- Valid Special Education certification and at least 5 years of experience delivering services in K‑12 settings, preferably in virtual or blended environments.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and state special‑education regulations.
- Proficiency with virtual learning platforms, data dashboards, and assistive technology.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
Compensation & Benefits
