Job Summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a full‑time Adult Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) to work day or night shifts at our Jeff Highway location in New Orleans, Orleans Parish. This role offers a competitive annual salary of $246,940.47.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for adult patients in acute, critical, and post‑operative settings.
• Operate and maintain mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol delivery systems.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory disease management, equipment use, and home care.
• Document all interventions accurately in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, code response, and emergency airway management.
• Mentor and precept new graduate therapists and respiratory therapy assistants.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Louisiana.
• Minimum of 2 years of adult respiratory therapy experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of ventilator modes, non‑invasive ventilation, and pulmonary function testing.
• Excellent communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
