Job Summary
Liberty Behavioral & Community Services, Inc. is hiring an Adaptive Skills Therapist in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, US. This full‑time role supports individuals with developmental disabilities (ages 5‑65) to develop independent living and social skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver individualized adaptive skills training programs, including personal hygiene, cooking, laundry, budgeting, and community navigation.
- Teach and reinforce social communication skills in various settings such as home, school, and community environments.
- Conduct functional assessments, set measurable goals, and track client progress using evidence‑based practices.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure consistent support across settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and compliance with state and agency regulations.
- Provide crisis intervention and behavior support as needed while promoting client safety and dignity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Occupational Therapy, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid California certification or license to provide adaptive skills therapy (e.g., BCBA, RBT, OT license).
- Minimum 2 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of evidence‑based adaptive and social skills interventions.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community‑based sessions.
Compensation & Benefits
