About This Position

Join Nixon McQuade as an Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller in Armagh, Northern Ireland. This full‑time role offers a competitive salary of £30,000 and the chance to develop your finance career in a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage credit control activities, including issuing statements, following up overdue invoices and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Process sales invoices, purchase orders and expense claims accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements, monitor cash flow and support month‑end closing procedures.
  • Prepare regular reports on aged debt, cash forecasts and key performance indicators for senior management.
  • Assist with payroll, VAT returns and other statutory filings as required.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies, liaise with internal departments and external suppliers.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing queries and negotiating payment plans when necessary.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounts payable/receivable or credit control within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong numerical ability, attention to detail and proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities.
  • Relevant qualification (AAT, CIMA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Residency eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
