Job Summary

Capital One is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager, Close & Consolidations to lead the monthly close and consolidation process for its Wilmington, Los Angeles County location. This role combines technical accounting expertise with strong people leadership in a fast‑paced financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end financial close and consolidation activities across multiple legal entities.
• Collaborate with technology and accounting system teams to ensure accurate data flow and system enhancements.
• Provide guidance on legal entity structures, intercompany transactions, and accounting policies.
• Lead a team of accountants, fostering development, performance reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Drive enterprise‑wide initiatives such as process automation, reporting standardization, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and present consolidated financial statements and variance analysis to senior leadership.
• Partner with external auditors during audit cycles and address audit findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in financial close, consolidation, and reporting, preferably in a large corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with multi‑entity consolidations.
• Proficiency with ERP/financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday) and advanced Excel skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast‑moving setting and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation

Salary range: $198,478.25 per year.
