St Joe Tool Co Inc is hiring an Accounting/HR Assistant in Sawyer, Berrien County, US. This dual‑role supports the CFO with financial record‑keeping and assists the HR team with payroll and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and verify accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, intercompany and credit‑card transactions.
• Prepare and process bi‑weekly payroll, ensuring accurate tax withholdings and benefits deductions.
• Maintain employee files, onboarding documentation, and assist with benefits administration.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, timekeeping, and HR policies.
• Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
• 1‑2 years of experience in accounting and payroll processing.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and HRIS/payroll software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP, payroll tax regulations, and basic employment law.
