2610 Senior Network Engineer (NE40)

ADVANTEDGE TECHNOLOGY, INC. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (NE40) to lead complex network infrastructure projects at the Surface Warfare Engineering Facility and NAVSEA PHD in Port Hueneme, Ventura County.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) Test Ship Remote Control Network across five physical locations.
• Provide on‑site principal field engineering support for installations at SWEF, PHD labs, and NAVSEA facilities.
• Lead troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening of high‑availability network systems.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, contractors, and Navy stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
• Develop and enforce network standards, documentation, and best‑practice procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as technical authority during system integrations and upgrades.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of professional experience in network engineering, including large‑scale DoD or maritime environments.
• Expertise with routing and switching (Cisco, Juniper), VPN, MPLS, and secure remote‑control protocols.
• Proven leadership in managing multi‑site network projects and test‑ship communications.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Compensation & Benefits
