About the Role

As a Remote Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will deliver personalized assistance to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and quality of life. Working virtually, you’ll use video conferencing, phone calls, and secure messaging to guide clients through daily routines, skill‑building activities, and community engagement—all while adhering to each individual’s support plan and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual check‑ins to assess client well-being, mood, and progress toward goals.
• Assist with medication reminders, appointment scheduling, and telehealth coordination.
• Facilitate skill‑development sessions such as budgeting, cooking, and communication techniques via video calls.
• Collaborate with families, case managers, and clinical staff to update support plans and document outcomes.
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support using evidence‑based de‑escalation strategies.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in the agency’s electronic health record system.
• Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience providing direct support to individuals with disabilities (in‑person or virtual).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfort using video‑conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.) and electronic documentation tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain professional boundaries in a remote setting.
• Reliable high‑speed internet connection, a quiet workspace, and a webcam‑enabled computer or tablet.
