About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Datacenter Technician to join our distributed operations team. As a remote Datacenter Technician, you are the frontline expert responsible for the physical health and digital heartbeat of our client’s servers. You won’t commute to a dusty server room; instead, you’ll manage alerts, coordinate with on-site vendors, and troubleshoot complex hardware issues right from your home office.

This is not a sit-back-and-relax role. It requires a proactive mindset where you anticipate failures before they happen. You will be the eyes and ears on the ground, working closely with remote engineers to ensure that the physical layer of the network is as resilient as the software running on top of it.

What You Will Be Doing

• Monitoring critical infrastructure alerts and dashboards in real-time to ensure uptime.
• Coordinating with local vendors for hardware replacements, rack installations, and cable management.
• Troubleshooting hardware failures, network connectivity issues, and power anomalies remotely.
• Documenting maintenance procedures and updating infrastructure maps.
• Performing remote diagnostics using IPMI, iLO, or DRAC interfaces.
• Conducting periodic health checks on cooling systems and power distribution units.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you need a combination of physical hardware knowledge and digital savvy.

Must Have

• 2+ years of experience in datacenter operations, IT hardware support, or field engineering.
• Proficiency with rack mounting, cable management (fiber and copper), and server hardware.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, and basic firewall rules.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with remote teams and on-site staff.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for critical incidents.
