Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain heavy diesel engines and associated systems on trucks, excavators, and other industrial equipment.
• Perform routine inspections, fault finding and corrective actions both in the workshop and on‑site at client locations.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics and service bulletins to ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts inventory and complete paperwork in line with health & safety regulations.
• Provide mentorship to junior technicians and support the Master Technician development pathway.
• Collaborate with the service manager to schedule jobs, manage workload and meet turnaround targets.

Essential Requirements

• NZ Certificate in Diesel Engine Technology (Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience working on heavy diesel engines in a workshop or field setting.
• Proven ability to use diagnostic tools, multimeters and engine test equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s licence (Class 1) and willingness to travel within the Hawke’s Bay region.
