This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in California while making a tangible impact on workplace well‑being and operational excellence.

About the Role

Our company operates a hybrid workforce with employees in home offices, co‑working spaces, and occasional field sites. The Safety Manager partners with HR, Operations, and IT to create policies that address ergonomic risks, cyber‑security safety, emergency preparedness, and occupational health. • Conduct quarterly virtual safety inspections and provide actionable feedback to managers and team leads.
  • Design and deliver engaging e‑learning modules on topics such as home office ergonomics, mental health awareness, and incident reporting.
  • Investigate and analyze safety incidents, near‑misses, and hazards reported through our digital reporting platform.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for safety equipment provisioning and ergonomic assessments.
  • Track safety metrics (LTIR, TRIR, near‑miss rates) and present monthly dashboards to executive leadership.
  • Stay current on evolving remote work regulations and advise leadership on policy adjustments.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive safety management experience, with at least 2 years overseeing remote or distributed workforces.

  • Proven track record of developing safety programs that reduced incident rates by 15% or more.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, workers’ compensation laws, and ISO 45001.
  • Excellent facilitation and virtual training abilities; comfortable using platforms like Zoom, Teams, and LMS software.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in safety data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or safety‑specific software).
  • Outstanding communication skills – able to translate complex safety concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse audiences.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a remote setting.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $78,000 – $95,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience.
