Key Responsibilities

  • Design and enforce zero‑trust network segmentation across multi‑cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain security automation playbooks using Python, PowerShell, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools.
  • Perform continuous vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and red‑team exercises.
  • Monitor SIEM alerts, correlate threat intelligence, and lead incident response investigations.
  • Advise on secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices and conduct code reviews for security flaws.
  • Prepare compliance evidence for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR audits.

Requirements

Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in enterprise cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a fully remote capacity.
  • Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or GCP security services (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, etc.).
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash for automation and tooling.
  • Deep knowledge of network protocols, TLS/PKI, and encryption standards.
  • Experience with container orchestration security (Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh).

Certifications & Education

  • CISSP, CCSP, or OSCP highly preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or comparable work experience).

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple high‑impact projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Continuous learner with a passion for emerging threat landscapes.

Salary Range

$95,000 – $130,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, certifications, and geographic cost‑of‑living adjustments.

Benefits & Perks

  • 100 % remote work with flexible scheduling and core‑hours overlap.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents.
  • Annual professional development budget of $3,000 for conferences, courses, and certifications.
  • Generous paid time off, including a dedicated “security research” week each year.
  • Company‑provided hardware allowance (laptop, monitors, ergonomic accessories).
  • 401(k) match up to 5 % and equity participation program.
  • Wellness stipend, mental‑health resources, and virtual team‑building events.

Culture & Values

Our team thrives on transparency, autonomy, and a shared commitment to making the internet safer. We celebrate diverse perspectives, encourage open‑source contributions, and hold blameless post‑mortems to turn every incident into a learning opportunity. If you are driven by purpose, enjoy solving hard security puzzles, and want the freedom to work from anywhere in the U.S., this role is built for you.

How to Succeed in This Role

  • Stay current with MITRE ATT&CK updates and integrate new techniques into detection rules.
  • Champion a “security as code” mindset, embedding controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Build strong relationships with engineering leads to embed security early in the design phase.
  • Document findings and remediation steps in a knowledge base that scales across the organization.
