Job Summary
NavitasPartners is hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer – Cloud & GenAI Enablement for a remote/hybrid role based in Brampton, Peel region, Canada. This contract/full‑time position offers a fixed annual salary of $83,200 and focuses on building scalable cloud data platforms for AI/ML and Generative AI workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud‑native data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift) that support high‑performance analytics and AI pipelines.
- Implement data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows using tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory.
- Enable GenAI initiatives by creating feature stores, model‑ready datasets, and real‑time data feeds.
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance across multi‑cloud environments.
- Optimize performance, cost, and scalability of data pipelines and storage.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to best‑practice documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience building and operating cloud data platforms.
- Strong proficiency with SQL, Python/Scala, and modern data engineering frameworks.
- Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
- Knowledge of AI/ML data requirements and familiarity with GenAI concepts.
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and data warehousing.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with data governance tools (Collibra, Alation) and security frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits
