About This Position

NavitasPartners is seeking a Senior C# / .NET Engineer with deep experience in the Property & Casualty insurance sector, especially flood insurance, to work remotely from anywhere in Canada. This 6‑month contract focuses on building scalable .NET Core Web APIs for actuarial and catastrophe modeling systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance .NET Core Web APIs supporting flood risk analytics and catastrophe modeling.
  • Integrate third‑party data feeds and actuarial engines into the insurance platform.
  • Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and QA teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code‑review standards to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Document architecture, APIs, and deployment procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional C#/.NET development experience, including .NET Core 3.x/5/6.
  • Strong background in Property & Casualty insurance, preferably flood insurance or related risk analytics.
  • Hands‑on experience with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
  • Proficiency with SQL Server, Entity Framework, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps tools (Git, Docker, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with catastrophe modeling tools or actuarial software.
  • Knowledge of event‑driven architectures, Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate.
