Job Summary
Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join its finance team in London, Middlesex, Canada. This full‑time role supports financial operations, reporting, and compliance for the college.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, ledger maintenance, and trial balances.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with college policies, GAAP and governmental regulations.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting issues and provide financial insights.
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all financial activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in an educational or public‑sector environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/financial systems (e.g., Workday, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
