About the Role

We’re seeking a talented Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team of engineers and designers. In this remote position, you’ll be responsible for developing comprehensive electrical design documentation for a variety of projects across multiple sectors including commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities, and renewable energy installations.

As an Electrical Designer, you’ll work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and clients to translate project requirements into detailed electrical drawings and specifications. You’ll utilize industry-leading software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, and ETAP to create schematics, layouts, and coordination drawings that meet all applicable codes and standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include producing electrical plans, diagrams, and schedules; conducting design reviews; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams; and ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and project timelines. You’ll also participate in design meetings, contribute to proposal development, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical design drawings and specifications using CAD software
• Create schematics, panel schedules, and lighting layouts for commercial projects
• Perform load calculations and short-circuit studies for electrical systems
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and civil engineering teams
• Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, and local electrical codes
• Participate in client meetings and design review sessions remotely
• Support proposal development and project estimation efforts
• Maintain design standards and quality control procedures

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design for commercial or industrial projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, or similar CAD software
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE)
• Experience with power distribution system design and analysis
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently in remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
• Experience with renewable energy systems design
• Knowledge of ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or similar analysis software
• LEED accreditation or green building experience
• Experience with BIM and 3D modeling workflows

Salary Range

$75,000 – $95,000 USD/year

Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes comprehensive benefits package.
