About the Role

As a Remote Electrical Designer at Apex Engineering Solutions, you will create detailed schematics, panel schedules, and load calculations for projects ranging from data centers to renewable energy installations. You’ll work closely with project managers, field technicians, and clients to ensure every design meets NEC standards, client specifications, and sustainability goals. The position offers autonomy to manage your own design queue while receiving mentorship from licensed Professional Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop single‑line diagrams, conduit layouts, and equipment schedules using AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP.
• Perform short‑circuit, coordination, and arc‑flash studies with ETAP or SKM PowerTools.
• Prepare and review construction documents for permitting and bidding phases.
• Coordinate with mechanical and structural teams to resolve clashes in BIM models.
• Provide on‑call design support during construction and commissioning.

Requirements

Education & Certification

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field (ABET‑accredited preferred).
• EIT/FE certification; PE license a strong plus.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
• Experience with power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower).
• Solid understanding of NEC 2023, IEEE 1584, and NFPA 70E.
• Familiarity with renewable energy integration (solar PV, battery storage).

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3 years of commercial/industrial electrical design experience.
• Proven track record of delivering permit‑ready packages on schedule.
• Strong written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.

Salary Range

$85,000 – $115,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, certifications, and portfolio complexity. Performance bonuses and annual merit reviews are standard.
