Service Technician – Security / Access Control

Job Summary

Entech Sales & Service is seeking a skilled Service Technician – Security / Access Control to join its team in San Antonio, Bexar County, US. This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic access control and security systems for commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission access control hardware and digital video management systems at customer sites.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot system faults to minimize downtime.
• Repair or replace faulty components, including card readers, controllers, locks, and networking equipment.
• Provide on‑site technical support and training to end‑users and facility managers.
• Document service activities, generate detailed reports, and update service logs in the company’s CRM.
• Coordinate with the sales and engineering teams to recommend upgrades or system enhancements.
• Maintain compliance with local codes, safety standards, and Entech’s quality procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification (e.g., NICET, Certified Access Control Technician) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience servicing access control, CCTV, or building automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, Ethernet), power supplies, and low‑voltage wiring.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and customer‑service orientation.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel within the San Antonio area.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work at heights on ladders or lifts.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary: $66,267.55 (fixed). Competitive benefits package includes health insurance, 401(k) match, paid time off, and ongoing technical training.
