About the Role

As a Remote Registered Nurse in the ICU, you will serve as a vital extension of the bedside team, using real‑time data streams, video conferencing, and electronic health records to assess patient status, adjust care plans, and communicate urgent changes to on‑site staff. Your expertise will help reduce response times, improve patient outcomes, and support healthcare facilities facing staffing shortages.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs, lab results, and imaging data for assigned ICU patients via secure telehealth platforms.
• Provide clinical guidance, medication recommendations, and escalation protocols to bedside nurses and physicians.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR within mandated timeframes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds virtually, contributing to care plan development and family communication.
• Ensure compliance with state nursing regulations, hospital policies, and telehealth best practices.
• Mentor and orient new remote ICU nurses, sharing best practices and troubleshooting technical issues.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Texas (compact license accepted).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience (medical, surgical, cardiac, or neuro ICU).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS or CCRN preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar) and telehealth/video conferencing tools.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining seamless collaboration with on‑site teams.
• Reliable high‑speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
