About This Position
Join the University of Iowa’s Information Technology Services as a Senior IT Support Consultant for Learning Spaces Technology in Iowa City, Johnson County. Key Responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end service management for Learning Spaces Technology (LST) across 350+ classrooms, conference rooms, and student computing spaces.
- Develop and enforce technology standards, policies, and best practices for audiovisual and collaborative tools.
- Coordinate incident, problem, and change management processes to maintain high availability and performance.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior staff and campus partners.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and vendors to design, test, and deploy new learning‑space solutions.
- Monitor system health, generate performance reports, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands‑on IT support experience, preferably in higher‑education or large‑scale AV environments.
- Strong knowledge of audiovisual equipment, video‑conferencing platforms, and classroom management software.
- Proficiency with ITIL/ITSM processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA).
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and experience leading cross‑functional projects.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Cisco, Crestron, Poly, or similar AV integration platforms.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation, or vendor‑specific AV credentials.
- Familiarity with campus network infrastructure and security standards.
Compensation & Benefits
