Job Summary
East Texas Professional Credit Union is seeking a detail‑oriented Collection Specialist in Judson, Gregg County, TX. This role manages repossessed collateral from recovery through sale, ensuring compliance and maximizing recovery value.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate repossession activities with external agents, law enforcement, and internal teams.
- Verify that all repossessions comply with state and federal regulations as well as Credit Union policies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, track condition of assets, and update the system in real time.
- Conduct condition assessments, arrange repairs or refurbishments, and obtain cost estimates.
- Prepare collateral for sale, including photography, description writing, and pricing recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Auction/Asset Management team to schedule and execute sales, both online and in‑person.
- Monitor and report recovery metrics, identify trends, and propose process improvements.
- Respond to member inquiries related to repossessions and provide clear, professional communication.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree or relevant certifications a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in collections, asset recovery, or loss mitigation.
- Strong knowledge of Texas repossession laws and Credit Union regulations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and asset management software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation
Salary: $35,119.70 annually (fixed).
