Release Manager (Remote)
About This Position
GovCIO is seeking a Release Manager to work remotely from Douglas, Juneau, supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Services Portfolio. This role coordinates software releases within VA’s established processes while ensuring compliance and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and execute release cycles for the HTMS program, adhering to VA guidelines and timelines.
- Collaborate with development, QA, security, and operations teams to ensure release readiness.
- Maintain release documentation, change logs, and post‑release reports.
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolve release‑related issues, and drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing status updates and escalation handling.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
- Proven experience in release management, configuration management, or DevOps within a federal or large‑scale IT environment.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting and adapt to evolving client needs.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agencies.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Git, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Certification in ITIL, PMP, or related release management credentials.
Compensation
Annual salary: $109,689.58
