Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive vocational assessments for claimants with short‑term and long‑term disabilities.
- Develop individualized return‑to‑work plans aligned with medical recommendations and employer needs.
- Coordinate with medical providers, claimants, and employers to facilitate accommodations and job modifications.
- Maintain detailed case files, documentation, and progress reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide counseling and resources to improve claimants’ functional abilities and employability.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Group Disability Claims office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Human Services, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in vocational or clinical case management, preferably within insurance or disability claims.
- Strong knowledge of ADA, FMLA, and workers’ compensation regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills
- Certification as a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (CVRC) or similar credential.
- Experience conducting job analysis and ergonomic assessments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
